Fledgling New Zealand wine producer Invivo has partnered with a New York art gallery as it bids to position itself as a "fashionable" wine brand.

It will serve its Invivo Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2008 at JLA Baxter gallery in Manhattan, New York for the launch reception of 'Over/Under', featuring recent artworks by New York artists Eric Orr and Josh Goldstein, on November 6.

Invivo launched its first wine, the limited release 2008 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc in a collaboration with New Zealand fashion designer Zambesi last month. The vintage has already won three awards; at the New Zealand International Wine Show, the International Aromatics, and the Australian Small Winemakers Competition.

Co-founder and director of Invivo, Tim Lightbourne, said: "Our vision is to take Invivo New Zealand to the world with an innovative and contemporary approach. The location of the exhibition in Manhattan, New York City with such iconic artists as Eric and Josh is part of our cultural philosophy."

The New York exhibition is running until December 6.
