Call for tourism industry to promote Edinburgh and Glasgow as one

Published:  23 July, 2008

A Scottish organisation is searching for people in the tourism sector to help it boost collaboration between Edinburgh and Glasgow

The "Innovation EG" project is looking for young tourism professionals who can develop innovative ideas within food, whisky, culture, retail and adventure.

The chosen people will work as part of a group to turn ideas into a commercial venture that will attract visitors to both cities.

The groups will then have to pitch their ideas to a specialist panel with the winning project receiving 3000 of funding to implement their project.

Laura Gordon, director of the Glasgow-Edinburgh collaboration initiative, said: "We recognise that there is so much talent within the tourism and hospitality sectors in both Edinburgh and Glasgow.

"We want those people who are there on the front line to tell us their ideas."
