Tagus Creek wins Poppy Appeal deal

Published:  23 July, 2008

Portuguese brand Tagus Creek is to bear The Royal British Legion's poppy logo until the end of 2007.

As a result, for every bottle of Tagus Creek sold, be it red, white or ros, a donation of 10 pence will be made to the charity, which provides financial, social and emotional support to those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces.

Tagus Creek will also feature on shelf barkers' in Morrisons and Booths supermarkets, with details of the deal. Nick Oakley of Oakley Wine Agencies, the UK agent for Tagus Creek, told Harpers that the donation would carry on until Remembrance Sunday (11 November).

The brand will then make a sensible offer' for a single annual fee to the charity. He added: The Poppy Appeal has proved to be a great sales driver for French Connection (which carried the British Legion logo for the past three years), and we hope it will do the same for Tagus Creek - as well as contributing to a worthwhile cause.'
