Jascots adds Sekt producer Schloss Vaux to tap fizz trend

Published:  02 September, 2018

Jascots has added Sekt Estate producer Schloss Vaux to its portfolio to tap Brits’ continued thirst for bubbles.

Bringing the traditional method Sekts to the UK later this month, Jascots is initially taking on two cuvées from the Rheingau producer; Cuvée Vaux 2015 - a vintage blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc and Riesling, and Vaux Riesling 2016.

The wines come with £14.16 and £13.56 price tags respectively (exclusive VAT).

As sparkling wine sales continued to grow in the face of “turbulent market conditions”, now was the right time to introduce the German producer to the UK market, said Miles MacInnes, managing partner, Jascots.

“Consumers are eager to discover great quality sparkling wines from sources other than Champagne and Prosecco. These traditional method wines are refined, elegant and complex, not to mention breath-taking value for money when compared to Champagne,” he said.

The arrival of Schloss Vaux, which has been making premium traditional method Sekt for 150 years and is renowned as one of Germany’s finest sparkling wine estates, signified how seriously Jascots takes sparkling wine, he added.

The fizz, launching at Jascots’ annual tasting 25 September, will sit alongside Grand Cru grower Champagne from Andre Roger, award winning English sparkling from Harrow & Hope, organic Prosecco from Fidora as well as another new arrival - Cava Can Descregut.

Founded in 1991, Jascots has grown to a turnover of more than £9 million following a management buyout in 2016. Clients include Temper Restaurants, Social Eating House and Native.
