Harpers Wine Stars Awards: calling final entries for South Africa, New Zealand and England

Published:  01 March, 2018

Would you like your wines to feature among the Stars? Then don’t miss the 17 March entry submission deadline for our South Africa, New Zealand and England Wine Stars Awards (see below).

Launched in the summer of 2017, Harpers Wine Stars Awards takes a wholly original approach, judging wines through the eyes of buyers, assessing each entry on a three trier judging system.

In tune with the way that buyers buy, our judges look first at the quality of the liquid in the bottle, then further asses for value for money and design, looking to reward those wines that combine great drinking with fair price and shelf appeal.

Harpers Wine Stars identifies regional heroes from each focus country to inform buyers of the Star-performing wines - those likely to have the most appeal and sell-though to customers.

Our Wine Stars Awards rely solely on judging ‘by buyers for buyers’, ensuring that an accolade from this competition is of direct relevance for those looking for peer-judged wines from a commercial perspective.

Our objective is that Harpers Wine Stars Awards be the most practical, useful and comprehensive guide for buyers as we take into account the full offering of each wine entered - including taste, value and packaging.

The Wine Star Awards Buyers’ Guides will be distributed through Harpers Wine & Spirit and Drinks Retailing News, be available to view online and will be present at industry events that we host and attend throughout the year (e.g. London Wine Fair in May).

No other competition can offer the same level of trade media exposure to UK buyers.
