Berry Bros & Rudd ups stake in Anchor Distilling Company

Published:  05 December, 2017

Berry Bros & Rudd has increased its shareholding stake of Anchor Distilling Company (ADC).

The family-owned merchant yesterday announced it has purchased co-owner Keith Greggor’s shares in the San Francisco based premium craft spirits business for an undisclosed sum.

The purchase was “incredible exciting” news for Berry Bros & Rudd, with ADC’s portfolio boasting over 300 specialty products from more than 20 countries, said chief executive, Dan Jago.

In addition, ADC had experienced "strong, profitable and consistent growth" in revenue of more than 500% over the past few years, he added.

President and CEO of Anchor Distilling Company Dennis Carr will continue in his existing role following the purchase, said Berry Bros & Rudd.

Tony Foglio, co-owner of ADC, said: “Since ADC first formed in 2010, thanks to a partnership with Berry Bros & Rudd, the company has transformed from an independent craft distiller to a portfolio of the world's finest craft spirits.”

The news follows the recent announcement of the sale of the brewing arm of Anchor Brewers & Distillers to Sapporo Holdings Ltd, Japan’s oldest beer brand.
