40% of all online Majestic orders to be fulfilled through new e-commerce partnership

Majestic Wine has partnered with logistics firm Wincanton to streamline its e-commerce approach and become a "customer-focused multi-channel retailer."

As part of a new five-year agreement, 40% of all online Majestic's customer orders will be fulfilled through a new national fulfilment centre at a shared user site in Greenford.

Under the deal, Wincanton will fulfil individual online customer orders, storing, picking, packing and delivering over 4 million Majestic Wine goods annually, including fine wines, gift packs and seasonal items.

The partnership will give customers access to over 1,250 wines, forming one of the largest ranges in the UK.

It will also offer click and collect as well as named and next day delivery options.

Majestic Wine Retail MD, John Colley, said that the deal will take tasks away from the stores and free-up time for Majestic staff to concentrate on customer service.

"Customer service is our key focus at Majestic and the launch of the NFC will be an important part of our transformation plan," he said.

"Wincanton's flexibility, expertise and knowledge of retailers and the ecommerce space has been vital in this process and the site will greatly improve our customer service online and in-store as a result."

Wincanton has been brought on board for its e-commerce experience and will help to put into practice Majestic's plan to transform its approach to the multichannel retail market and fulfil online orders.
