Over 100 producers to be on show at WOSA's Intrepid South Africa tasting

Published:  23 August, 2016

Wines of South Africa's 2016 annual tasting titled Intrepid South Africa will be showcasing wines from over 100 producers.

The tasting will be hosted at the Tobacco Dock, London on Thursday 8th September 2016.

Along with producer tables, this year's event will feature a Tasting Trail, which will be made up of nine tasting stations that take attendees on a journey through South African wines focusing on different varieties and styles. Highlights of trail will include themes like Chenin Blanc, Pintoage, but also others like Off Beat Reds and Fairtrade brands.

"The UK is the leading export market for South African wines and this tasting offers visitors an opportunity to explore our wines, meet the winemakers, expand their knowledge of South Africa and find great value products that suit their businesses," said Jo Wehring, the UK manager for Wines of South Africa.

Value of South African wine exports to the UK have been increasing steadily with total exports up 2% and value exports of packaged South African wines up 8%.

"South African wine has never enjoyed so much positive attention and there is plenty to taste today to show you why leading commentators are often citing South Africa as the most exciting wine producing nation in the world. South Africa delivers great quality, personality and its own distinctive style across all price points," said Wehring.
