Family wineries: There happened to be many developments involving family wineries this week, especially in Australia. Casella Family Brands announced that they had acquired full ownership of iconic Australian Morris Wines and Hallgarten Druitt took over from Hallowed Ground representing small volume, family run Australian wineries in the UK. Elsewhere, Miguel Torres Maczassek, general manager of Bodegas Torres, spoke about playing the long game and re-planting a pre-phylloxera grape variety uncovered 20 years ago.
