Artisanal Forest Gin wins Virgin Trains first class account

Published:  11 January, 2016

Virgin Trains has chosen Cheshire small-batch artisanal Forest Gin to serve to its first-class passengers.

Launched in early 2015, Forest Gin is based in Macclesfield and run by husband-and-wife team Lindsay and Karl Bond.

Most of its botanicals, which include bilberries, raspberries, gorse flowers and moss, are foraged by the couple from Macclesfield Forest.

Local spring water is also used in its production.

The result is a premium London Dry Gin with an abv of 42%, which is packaged in a screen printed ceramic glazed bottle.

Forest Gin is available nationwide through Harvey Nichols, the Conran Shop and a wide range of indepedent retailers.

It has listings in the on-trade with Heston Blumenthal's Hinds Head in Bray and Jason Atherton's Pollen Street Social, among others.

"We are so excited and proud to have our gin behind the bar in Virgin's First Class Lounge at Euston," Karl Bond told the Manchester Evening News.

"We only launched the gin at the start of last year and it has already won numerous awards so this is great way to begin 2016."
