Greek wines in the spotlight at first dedicated festival in London
London is to have its first Greek Wine Festival. The multi-site event takes place on October 2-4.
The hub will be a wine fair at the Guardian and Observer newspapers' building at King's Place in King's Cross, showcasing 130 wines and with a meze bar and cocktails from nearby restaurant The Greek Larder, whose owner Theodore Kyriakou is curating the event.
Other venues hosting events in the area as part of the festival include Arthouse in York Way and the Rotunda bar and restaurant. There will be a pop-up wine bar outside The Greek Larder.
Julia Harding MW will be hosting talks on regions and varieties as part of the festivities, and Jancis Robinson will be doing a book signing.
Robinson said: "Whether you're a novice or a pro, you'll learn a huge amount through this showcase of the very best wines from one of the world's most distinctive wine-producing countries."
