London bars and shops prepare for first ever Rum Experience Week

Published:  13 August, 2015

Gerry's Wines & Spirit's in London's Soho has been named official rum shop for a week of events under the banner of Rum Experience Week.

The programme runs across London from October 12-18 leading up to the annual RumFest show.

It includes a rum masters dinner at Christie's auction house, a tiki boat ride on the Thames followed by an after-party at the Mahiki club in Mayfair and cigar and rum pairings at La Casa del Habano in Teddington and James J Fox in St James's.

Gerry's will be giving 10% off rum purchases during the week for all RumFest ticket holders and will be sampling exclusive rums that will also be at the show.

The week of festivities has been founded by global rum ambassador Ian Burrell who said: "Rum is an incredibly versatile spirit, whether mixed with a cocktail, paired with chocolates or marshmallows, cooking with rum, paired with cigars or simply tasted in neat form

"This versatility is something we aim to celebrate during the first ever Rum Experience Week, allowing both old and new rum drinkers to experience rums in new and surprising ways."

Appleton Estate and Lamb's Navy are among the brands taking part.
