Ned producer Marisco adds premium Craft Series to New Zealand wine portfolio in the UK

Published:  08 July, 2015

The New Zealand wine producer behind The Ned Sauvignon Blanc is releasing a new range of premium wines in the UK under the portfolio name The Craft Series.

The range of three wines from Marisco Vineyards are a step up in price at between £25 and £50 and come from small vineyard plots in the Waihopai Valley.

The Journey Pinot Noir 2013 has a production run of only 150 cases while grapes for The Exemplar Viognier 2012 come from a 1ha plot.

The third wine in the series is Pride & Glory Sauvignon Blanc, the launch release of which is the 2011 vintage.

Winemaker Brent Marris said: "For me, the Craft Series is all about the craft of winemaking and viticulture, and guiding the grape varietals to fulfil their full potential.

"By using aspects such as specific yeast strains and French ovals purposefully bought from France, we are able to allow our wines to develop their distinct characteristics with new depth and complexity."

Distribution of the wines will be through Kingsland.
