Beam Suntory marks launch of new Hibiki whisky with world first event in London

Published:  06 July, 2015

A London gallery is to be the first venue in the world to host an interactive tasting experience for a new Japanese whisky.

Beam Suntory has chosen Soho Revue in the West End to launch Hibiki Japanese Harmony on July 8 and 9.

The specially set-up bar will serve seasonal Hibiki whisky cocktails, feature music from a Japanese DJ and give guests the chance to take part in the tradition of writing wishes on pieces of washi paper to hang on a tanabata tree.

The whisky is a blend of more than 10 malt and grain spirits aged in five different types of cask from Suntory's Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita distilleries.

It has a UK rrp of £53.49 and is available through The Whisky Exchange.

Brand manager Keita Minari said: "This event is a world first - an idea based on the art of blending and Hibiki's harmony with nature which has developed into our first interactive consumer brand experience.

"The Hibiki Japanese Harmony bar is an exciting and refreshing take on a typical Japanese whisky bar.

"It encapsulates Hibiki's core values, creating a place of harmony in the heart of the city, which gives guests a traditional Japanese experience.

"London has such a strong love of Hibiki that it seemed the perfect place for Japanese Harmony to be launched."
