Chris Dee takes helm at Booths after 20 years with northern retailer

Published:  06 February, 2015

Chris Dee, who started his career at Booths as a wine and spirits director, has been promoted to the new position of chief executive officer after 20 years with the company.

Dee has held a number of positions during his long career at the premium northern retailer and moves up his previous role as chief operating officer. He will work alongside the retailer's chairman and driving force Edwin Booth.

Booth said of Dee's promotion: "He has the vision, and crucially, the ability to share that vision and inspire others to follow him."

Dee is widely respected in the trade for how he has forged strong partnerships with suppliers and was behind Booths' industry leading Fair Milk scheme that promises to pay dairy farmers the highest farm gate prices in the market.

Booths is still primarily centred in the north and north west of the country and plans to open a five new stores this year on top of its existing 30-store estate.
