Andrew Shaw to head up Bibendum PLB's new buying team

Andrew Shaw is to head up  Bibendum PLB's new joint buying team to work across all trading companies of the business - Bibendum, PLB and Walker and Wodehouse.

Andrew Shaw is to head up Bibendum PLB's new joint buying team to work across all trading companies of the business - Bibendum, PLB and Walker and Wodehouse.

As buying director for Bibendum PLB Group Shaw will be responsible for overseeing a team that sees talent from both Bibendum and PLB involved in the new team.

It will include four buyers, Paul Meihuizen and Marie Knight, previously buying directors for PLB, and former Bibendum buyers Jamie Avenell and Matt Smith. Meihuizen will be responsible for the Americas, South Africa, Germany, Austria and Hungary, whilst Knight will be in charge of France (except Champagne), Spain and Portugal.  Spirits, spirits, beer, soft drinks and Champagne will be headed up by Avenell and Smith will focus on Italy, New Zealand, Australia, Eastern Europe (except Hungary) and England.

The group is also involving three three regional consultants: Stuart Grundy, former Bibendum buying director for Europe;Burgundy specialist, Robin Kinahan, MW; and and Australian winemaker, Kym Milne MW, who will advise on Australasia.

The group has also announced that PLB's Stephen Walder will head up its technical and quality control function.
