Published:  18 December, 2014

Bar and restaurant operator Mitchells & Butlers has listed the Help for Heroes wine brand at 300 of its venues across the country.

Help for Heroes wineHelp for Heroes wine is now listed at 300 M&B venues

Help for Heroes comes in a Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc, both from South Africa's Western Cape and produced by Spier. UK distributor PLB, which earlier this year merged with Bibendum to form Bibendum PLB catering for a broader cross-section of the trade, worked with the South African producer to launch the product to the UK market earlier this year.

The wines will now be available at M&B's Sizzling Pubs, Crown Carveries and O'Neills. With a price tag of £12 to £13, £1 of the sale price will go to the charity.

Help for Heroes supports those who have suffered life-changing injuries and illnesses while working in Britain's armed forces.  Help is provided through grants to individuals, other service charities and through four recovery centres across the UK which offer support for life.

Tesco recently launched a Help for Heroes beer, developed by the charity, its ambassadors Pete Dunning, Daniel Whittingham and Simon Brown alongside Marston's brewery, which arrived on shelves in time for Remembrance Day. The beer is listed at 250 Tesco stores, prices £1.97, with 5p from the sale of each bottle going towards the rehabilitation of injured members of the armed forces.
