ProWine China 2014 to add 50% more space

Published:  31 March, 2014

ProWine China is adding 50% more space to its November 2014 exhibition as demand from exhibitors grows.

The organisers, who also run ProWein in Dusseldorf, which took place last week, say the Chinese event will now take up a second hall.

The exhibition will also encompass a networking event ProWine in the City which takes place in the evening, as well as an international tasting area.

ProWine China last year saw 570 wine and spirit producers from 30 countries attend, while 7,560 visitors also came to the Shanghai show.

Most exhibitors are expanding in Shanghai - including generic participation from Austria, Germany, Italy and Mexico. Wines of South Africa is doubling its space compared to 2013. With 800 m2, France will take up the most space of any country at ProWine China 2014, with Argentina and Spain coming second and third. More than 60 Spanish producers will attend, making the show the largest presentation of Spanish wines in mainland China.

There will also be individual exhibitors from Australia, Canada, Chile, Great Britain, Greece, Italy, Sweden, the Ukraine and the USA, while Chinese distributors will also have stands.

Visitors to ProWine China are importers, wholesalers and retailers, F&B managers and sommeliers from China and Asia; 52% of them are in top management positions and directly involved in pur-chasing decisions. There is still some space left for exhibitors at ProWine China, with prices per square metre ranging from US$ 410 to US$ 530.

ProWine China is held alongside FHC China, the country's leading trade fair for imported food at the SNIEC exhibition centre in Shanghai. It will take place from November 12 to 14, 2014.
