Largest Croatian wine tasting in the UK to be held in London

Published:  15 October, 2013

On October 17 at the Westbury Hotel in London 150 Croatian wines will be showcased by 30 wine producers, making it the largest tasting of Croatian wines to be held in the UK.

The tasting will be the fourth of its kind hosted by Vina Croatia, a collective of 30 Croatian wine producers.

Wines, featuring both indigenous and international varietals, will represent several key regions including Istria, Kvarner, Slavonia, Croatian Danube, Croatian Uplands and Dalmatia.

Croatian wines have been growing in popularity in the UK and with the acceptance of Croatia into the EU in 2013, it is becoming easier to import Croatian wines.

Elvira Belovi, marketing manager for Vina Croatia, said: "This is an important year for Croatian wine; our EU membership marks the start of a real commitment to the UK - our key export market - and we are looking to develop our sales here by investing in a sustained generic presence beyond the tasting."

The tasting will be held from 10am until 5.30pm and Joe Wadsack will present a masterclass on Dalmatian reds at 11am.
