Bordeaux Wines teams up with rugby star Matt Dawson MBE

Published:  16 November, 2012

Bordeaux Wines is working with international rugby star Matt Dawson MBE on a booklet and series of video clips that will feature exclusive food and wine pairings.

The Bordeaux Wine Bureau has teamed up with him to create seven dishes which can be paired with Bordeaux wines. These will appear in the' 2012 Everyday Bordeaux' booklet, 1.2 million of which will be distributed with The Sunday Times and The Sunday Telegraph on December 9.

The move comes on the back of his cook book, "Fresh, Simple, Tasty", a title which has the Bordeaux Wine Bureau says has great synergy with the advertising message "Good Food Would Choose Bordeaux" as well as "Everyday Bordeaux Wines". It lists a range of wines judged by the Association of Wine Educators to be some of the most delicious and affordable Bordeaux currently available in the UK priced between £6 and £20.

Since hanging up his rugby boots Matt has focused on his foodie passions with his own TV shows ('Matt and Allegra's Big Farm' and 'Mitch and Matt's Big Fish').

Dawson is the 2003 World Cup winning, international rugby star - turned TV
personality and cook and one of the longest running team captains on A Question Of Sport. He also won Celebrity Masterchef, 2006.

The Bordeaux Wine Bureau is also producing four short video clips of Dawson preparing and cooking some of his recipes and he is joined in the kitchen by wine expert Ewan Lacey to discuss the wine pairings.

These short videos will be activated (December 9) via the Bordeaux Wines UK digital environment and also on various food, wine and lifestyle networks.

The new list of "Everyday Bordeaux Wines" 2012 is currently available on the UK website for Bordeaux Wines: www.bordeaux.com/uk/wines/selection.
