Pernod Ricard appoints new on-trade channel director

Published:  12 March, 2019

Pernod Ricard has promoted James Bremner, currently customer business manager, to the position of on-trade channel director.

Taking on his new role with immediate effect, Bremner reports directly to Chris Ellis, Pernod Ricard UK commercial director. He takes over from previous on-trade channel director Mark Harris, who left the business at the end of last month.

Bremner has over 10 years experience in the drinks trade, having first joined Pernod Ricard UK as an account development executive in 2009, following which he joined Diageo as head of key accounts (on-trade), as well as Camden Town Brewery as head of groups (on-trade), for a period just short of three years.

Returning to Pernod Ricard UK in 2015, he took on the role of customer business manager, firstly for the Independent Wholesale Channel and then his most recent role overseeing Sainsbury’s.

Having acquired a wide understanding of the UK on-trade during his career, Bremner was a “fantastic example of development within our business”, said Ellis.

“James has been a strong member of the commercial team for many years, working in a variety of different roles across the off-trade, from independent wholesale to managing our wine portfolio in the grocery wine team.”
