Official brandy body appoints new director

Published:  28 September, 2017

Olivier Goujon has become the new director of the Bureau National Interprofessionnel de l’Armagnac (BNIA), the offocial body for brandy produced in the Armagnac region in Gascony.

Goujon’s appointment follows previous director, Sébastien Lacroix’s departure from the role.

The Bergerac native will manage the BNIA while developing communication activities in France and abroad.

After ten years working in communication for the Union des Oenologues de France in Paris, and more recently at the Syndicat Général des Vignerons de la Champagne in Epernay, Goujon’s tenure officially began on September 18.

Marc Darroze, president of the BNIA commented: “We deliberately wanted someone with a ‘project leader and communicator’ profile, because the BNIA must, as part of its strategic plan, more than ever, be a melting pot of ideas in order to boost the promotion and values of AOC Armagnac working alongside the whole BNIA team to set up production and quality projects to develop technical expertise”.
