Quintessential Brands wins Cockspur distribution deal
Quintessential Brands has signed a deal as the UK distributor for Cockspur rum.
From September 1st, the spirits brand will be distributed through Quintessential Brands’ off- and on-trade distribution arms - Essential Drinks and Marblehead Brand Development respectively, taking over from current distributor, Whyte & MacKay, which will relinquish the brand at the end of August.
The partnership with Quintessential Brands would help “bring the fun, excitement and growth” back to Cockspur, said Steve Wilson, chief executive officer of Woodland Radicle Ventures, which recently purchased the brand.
Warren Scott, co-founder and chief executive officer of Quintessential Brands said: “Cockspur rum is a brand with great potential in the UK right now; it epitomises the fun, relaxed party vibe of Barbados where the brand was born over 130 years ago and it’s this authenticity that appeals to the growing legion of rum drinkers in the UK today.
