Loire Valley Wines have joined Nyetimber to be the two headline partners for this year's London Wine Week festival by DrinkUp.London.

Other partners include Wines of Portugal, Aldi and Vins de Provence.

Last year, London Wine Week welcomed 8,000, which was launched in 2014 to coincide with the London Wine Fair.

This year, it takes place from 23 to 29 May.

Wines from the Loire Valley in France, which have a strong presence in the London on-trade, will feature strongly at this year's week of events.

Events include a special "Loire Day" at Sager & Wilde to celebrate the launch of LWW with a masterclass featuring six Loire wines.

The first ever London Wine Week was in 2014, with 130 of the capital's bars, restaurants and independent wine merchants getting involved.

London Wine Week was established by ABV Global based on the success of the London Cocktail Week.

Consumers buy a £10 wrist band and follow a pocket-sized guidebook to visit participating venues and enjoy a glass of premium wine for £5.

The festival aims to broaden people's awareness of new grapes and regions, and aside from visiting participating venues there will be ticketed pop-up events along the lines of the street food movement.

Independent wine merchants will open their doors to offer masterclasses, meet the winemaker sessions and discounts on bottles for wristband wearers.

A full list of participating venues is available on the website.
