Second annual Think Gin event to showcase premier distillers worldwide

Published:  15 January, 2016

The second annual Think Gin event is to take place in London on March 1.

The event is designed to bring together senior trade buyers with both producers and sector experts to drive growth in both the on- and the off-trade.

The day will feature a series of practical sessions and workshops to help you identify the right gins for you in your business, and a range of Gin Debates with key figures from both the on- and off-trade.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to experience exclusive new gin showcases, and meet the producers of numerous key brands.

Over 35 of the world's premier distillers are expected to be showcasing their brands, including Blackdown, Warner Edwards, Caorunn, Amathus, Martin Miller's and many more.

Will Holt of Pinkster Gin, which is returning to Think Gin for a second year, said: "Think Gin worked for us on every level. Whether genning up on the latest trends, meeting buyers or chatting to fellow brand owners, we crammed a huge amount into one day.

"The intelligence gleaned and contacts made, helped contribute to a bumper year for Pinkster. We need all the consumer insight we can, so we're most definitely back in March for more of the same."

Last year, the roster of industry experts speaking at Think Gin included Tristan Stephenson, Joey Medrington and Anistasia Miller, together with key figures from Hedonism, Gin Monkey, Waitrose and Hammonds of Knutsford, among others.

This year's panellists and contributors will be announced shortly.

Gin sales in the UK hit £1 billion in 2015, up 25% since 2012.

Growth has been driven by the 18-to-34 demographic, some 42% of whom have drunk gin in the last year.

Consumer analysts Mintel predicts sales to rise to £1.31 billion by the end of the decade.

Think Gin will run from 9:15am to 6.00pm at The Hospital Club in London's Covent Garden.
