Sussex wine estate flying high after winning first BA listing for English still wine

Published:  14 July, 2015

A Sussex wine producer is celebrating after becoming the first to have a still wine listed by British Airways.

Bolney Estate Pinot Gris 2014 will be served on first class flights to and from the US from August.

Sam Linter, managing director and lead winemaker at Bolney Wine Estate, said: "This is the first time an English still wine will be served on board the airline, and to us it demonstrates the quality reputation that British wines are now receiving.

"We have picked up a plethora of awards in 2015, and hope to see many more in the coming months."

Colin Talbot, BA's head of catering, said: "Our customers have very discerning tastes and we work hard to bring them the best in food and drink when they fly with British Airways.

"We're always particularly pleased when we can support British business too, so the introduction of Bolney Estate Pinot Gris is a real coup for our customers and us."
