McWilliams to target millenials with new red wine blend

Published:  02 June, 2015

Australian wine group, McWilliams has launched a new red wine blend targeting millennials.

The 'Wilding WInemake's Blend 2013 is a Shiraz, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon blend from Griffith in South East Australia, which has been made by McWilliam's winemaker Russell Cody. It is launching into the UK off-trade this summer via Sogrape UK (rrp: £9.99).

The company described Wilding as an "innovative, fruity approachable style of wine with powerful flavours balanced with a gracefully smooth finish"

"Wildling is about offering consumers who are perhaps just beginning their wine journey something they're really going to enjoy drinking. " McWilliam's Wine Group export director Mark Hely said. "The approachable style of the 'red blend' category has been hugely successful in the US, which means it's on its way over to the UK whether the wine establishment likes it or not."
