Broadlands boost on-trade offering with new agencies

Published:  10 April, 2015

Broadlands Wineries has added three new agencies to boost its on-trade offering as part on its ongoing development as a dedicated wine supplier.

The Norfolk-based bottling specialist and distributor is set to become the exclusive UK distributor of Langudeoc-Rousillon based winery Mme Claude Parmentier Fitou, which is being relaunched into the UK. The wines, which are made by one of the largest still wine co-operative group in France, Val d'Orbieu , comprises a blend of Grenache, Syrah, Carignan and Mourvèdre.

It has also added three wines from the Rioja family-owned brand Viña Los Porches - a Tinto, Crianza and Reserva, which come from Tempranillo vines with an average age of 45 years - and Australian winery, Project Wine. Formerly known as Langhorne Creek Winery, the winery produces a range of single varietals under the Three Pillars brand and The Vintner series.

Broadland Wineries was set up in 1965 as a contract bottler but has changed "immeasurably" in the last two years, shifting its focus to lessen its reliance on major wine distributors. It has concentrated on building its own portfolio of imported wines and becoming a dedicated wine supplier.

It has ambitious plans to grow the busines from £55m in 2014 to £250m by 2026, which will be build on the growth of its imported sines, which are bottled at sourced and targeted at key areas of the market. It is also looking to boost exports and doubled its exports last year.
