Digby Fine English wine has signed distribution deals with Coe Vintners across the UK, and the recently-formed British Bottle Company for international export.

The firm is also preparing, for the first time, to pre-sell 100 magnums of its 2009 vintage, which would be ready for Christmas 2016.

They will be disgorged in the summer of 2015, and delivered in time for Christmas 2016. The pre-order price is £70, while any tranche released in 2016 would have a price tag of around £90. Purchasers will receive a certificate with their individual bottle number and updates about the progress of their wine.

Co-founder and chief executive Trevor Clough said: "Magnums offer the ultimate expression of luxury sparkling wine and have their own dignified timeline. This is our own way of celebrating the definitive quality and increasing desire for English sparkling wine worldwide. By the time our 2009 Reserve Brut magnum corks are ready for popping, we hope the global fan base for English sparkling will have doubled."

It is confident its new distribution deals will expand the reach of its English wines across the UK and the rest of the world. The British Bottle Company has a line-up of "authentic" British brands including Ridgeview, Hush Heath, Camel Valley and Hattingley Valley, the Otter and Adnams breweries, Henney's cider and Warner Edwards and Langtons Gin and Black Cow vodka.

The firm was co-founded by former consultant Clough and Jason Humphries. It hired Lee Sargent, former EU marketing director at PepsiCo, and on-trade expert Arthur Voulgaris to boost its expertise in those areas. It also assembled a team of top designers to ensure the right look for its wines.

It makes its wines under contract with Dermot Sugrue at his Sussex estate, who also makes wines under the Sugrue Pierre and Wiston labels.

Digby Fine English 2009 Reserve Brut and 2009 Rosé Brut 75cl, have an rrp of £34.99 and £39.99 respectively. Selfridges and Hedonism Wines continue as principal retail partners, although it also sells online and through select independent merchants.
