Boutique RumFest returns to London with over 400 rums on show

RumFest is set to return to London for its eighth year next month and will include the trade only Boutique RumFest that takes place on October 10at London's ILEC Centre.

RumFest overall gives both consumers and the trade the chance to taste and enjoy over 400 different rums from around the world. Tastings will run from 12 pm- 6 pm daily.

The Boutique RumFest will be held on the first day of the show and gives the trade and press alike the chance to meet and taste rums from emerging distilleries, find new products, talk to importers and brands owners.

This year's Boutique RumFest will also feature a serious of specialist rum forums for the first time. Sessions will cover topics such as importing rum hosted by The Cocktail Lovers and a debate on the premiumisation of rum hosted by the owner of the Smuggler's Cove brand, Martin Cate.

Tito Cordero, master blender for Diplomático Rum, said of last year's RumFest event: "It is really important for me and it is really important for the brand. It means a lot for me and the brand to be here because the UK RumFest is one of the most important rum shows around the world."

Diplomático Rum selected last year's event to officially launch Diplomático's single vintage rum.

RumFest was founded by global rum ambassador Ian Burrell.

Rum has seen a rise in the UK in the last year, according to the William Grant and Sons Market Report 2014. It found that golden rum grew by 18% in value and 12.4% in volume in the off-trade. In the on-trade golden rum saw an 8% rise in value and 6.1% rise in volume for the same period.
