Published:  23 April, 2014

Cocobananas is a new Brazilian nightclub that is set to open in Battersea, south London in time for people to celebrate the World Cup.

Cocobananas is the latest venture from Charlie Gilkes and Duncan Stirling's Inception Group which already includes themed venues including Bunga Bunga and Maggie's.

The nightclub will cover two floors and hopes to re-create a typical Brazilian nightspot with décor including vintage surfboards, palm trees, plantation shutters, and a reproduction of Rio de Janiero's Christ the Redeemer statue. It will also include a caipirinha bar.

Club goers will be able to watch some of the late night World Cup games taking place in Brazil before enjoying live nightly sets from leading DJs all with a Latin, South American twist. It will also include regular dance performances from capoeira dancers.

Cocktails will be served by waiters and waitresses dressed in surf shorts and sarongs and bikinis including a range of cachaça cocktails, Brazil's most famous cocktail, including Leblon, Germana, and Velho Barreiro, cachaças.

Sharing drinks will include 'Da Cabana' which is a mix of Leblon cachaça, cherry Marnier, Cointreau, lime, passion fruit, apple and pomegranate juice, and topped with 7 Up.

Guests can also tuck in to Brazilian Brazilian street food like Kibe, croquets made with beef or fish, Empadinh, pastry parcles stuffed with chicken and spices. Latin-inspired pizzas will include The Loco, made with slow-cooked buffalo, bacon, chicken, red pepper and barbecue sauce and the Coco made with chicken, red onion and sweetcorn.

Cocobanas will be on Howie Street, London, SW11 3BA.
