Mondel?z International confirms new role for former Laithwaite's chief

Published:  05 August, 2013

Following his departure last month from Laithwaite's, confectionery and good giant, Mondel?z International, has now confirmed that Glenn Caton has joined the business as category director for UK and Ireland.

Caton resigned from his post as managing director of Laithwaite's Wine after two years in the role to take up the new opportunity, marking a return to the FMCG sector where he has previously worked at Procter & Gamble before taking up wine roles at E&J Gallo and Laithwaite's.

Caton will be responsible for handling major confectionery brands including Cadbury Dairy Milk, Green and Black's and Toblerone. Maurizio Brusadelli, president of Mondel?z International, said of Caton's appointment: "I am delighted to welcome Glenn to Mondel?z International. We pride ourselves on attracting the best marketing and commercial talent to our business, brands and our people."

Caton added: "I'm extremely excited to be joining Mondel?z International at such an interesting time for the chocolate category with the opportunity of working across so many well-loved brands and campaigns."

Mike Brennan, managing director of Direct Wines' Indian and European business, will act as interim managing director of Laithwaite's for the next six months until a full time replacement can be found.
